Course rules

Policies and support

The course-wide rules for late work, extensions, academic integrity and getting help. For how the three assessments build on each other across the semester, see Assessments.

Late work and extensions

If something outside your control is going to make a due date genuinely unworkable, get in touch with the relevant assessment’s marker before the deadline, not after it.

A short, specific extension request made early is easy to grant; the same request made after the deadline has already passed is not.

Academic integrity

Analysis, predictions, and design justifications should be your own reasoning about the specific sample or target you were given. Discussing concepts with classmates is expected and encouraged — the weekly teaching sessions are built around exactly that.

The written reasoning you submit should be traceable to your own understanding of it.

Getting help

For a question about a specific piece of work in progress, bring it to your next teaching session rather than emailing it — that’s where a tutor can look at what you’re seeing alongside you. For anything about the course itself rather than a specific piece of work, see People for who to contact and how.
