Eric tutors the weeks where a signal’s frequency content and gain get reshaped downstream of the guitar itself: a pedal’s control cavity, tone filtering, and an amplifier’s own staged gain and tone stack. Eric is the person most often fielding “why does the same knob sound different in a different position in the chain” questions, because the honest answer is usually “it depends what’s already happened to the signal by then.”

Eric’s own background is in acoustics, which comes through in how the bench sessions frame a filter or a tone stack — as a frequency-response curve first, a “sound” second.

Consultation: ask during a session first — most questions about a control on the bench are faster to resolve by looking at it together than by describing it in an email. Email for anything that can’t wait until the next session, or that needs a considered written answer.
