Baseline Matchup Protocol
Design and run a controlled lane test that turns one suspected counter interaction into an evidence-backed rule.
Due: 18 March 2027 · Weight: 20%
The brief#
Prove, revise, or reject one matchup rule using a test another student could reproduce.
Choose an interaction that currently changes how you play lane. State the prediction before testing and include the opponent’s likely counter-response. Run at least three resets, swap sides or pilots where possible, and separate execution failures from a weak plan.
What you submit#
- a two-page protocol in PDF or accessible web format;
- a three- to five-minute annotated replay excerpt;
- the before-and-after atlas entry;
- a 150-word next-test note.
Strong work does not need a winning result. It needs a transparent method and a conclusion proportionate to the evidence.
The spec
The brief poses the problem and leaves room for a response. The spec is the fixed part: what a marker checks. Some lines can be checked mechanically; the rest call for judgement.
- one champion, role, and opponent interaction are named
- the method controls level, items, wave state, side, and success condition
- the conclusion includes uncertainty and a scheduled re-test
