Retired librarian, thirty-one years at the same branch. Recently dug up an old blog she abandoned in her thirties and decided to try again.

Found three boxes of old photographs while clearing out the study — mostly of the reading room before the 2003 renovation. Decided this retirement needs a project, so I'm scanning them one at a time and writing down what I remember about each. Starting here.

Eleven posts in and I still don't know if anyone but my sister is reading these. Nearly stopped this week — it felt a little silly, typing into what might be an empty room. Kept going anyway. Scanned the photo of the old card catalogue today. Nobody under forty will know what it is.

Got a message today from Berit, who I worked the front desk with for a decade and hadn't spoken to in years — she'd found the blog somehow and remembered the exact photo I posted last week before I'd even captioned it. Sat with my tea for a long while after reading that. Definitely not stopping now.
