New browser war erupts over who supports the blink tag better
Sci-Tech · Tuesday, August 5, 1997
Rival browser makers NetSurfer and WinBrowse are once again trading barbs, this time over whose renderer produces the smoother, more elegant blink.
NetSurfer engineers claim their blink cycle is "indistinguishable from a real neon sign." WinBrowse counters that its blink "never skips a frame, even during a background MIDI file."
Web designers, for their part, say they will keep using the tag on every page regardless of who wins.
