# Week 10 — two cuts of the same footage

## Deliberate pacing choice

Only the duration of shot 03 changes: Cut A holds its first 6.067 seconds; Cut B keeps its first 2.067 seconds. Shot order (1→2→3→4→5), sources, other trims, source sound and final 0.5-second fade remain the same. The shortened reaction's own audio is shortened with its picture; this is not a sound-isolated audience test.

| Shot | Cut A duration | Cut B duration |
|---|---|---|
| 01 wide | 6.067 s | 6.067 s |
| 02 caller insert | 4.267 s | 4.267 s |
| 03 reaction | 6.067 s | 2.067 s |
| 04 reach/hover | 6.767 s | 6.767 s |
| 05 acceptance/listening | 8.067 s | 8.067 s |

Actual container runtimes: Cut A 31.233333 seconds; Cut B 27.266667 seconds (frame/sample rounding differs slightly from nominal edit durations).

## One sentence per cut — intended emotional difference

**Cut A:** Holding her face longer invites the audience to dwell on the difficulty of deciding whether to answer.

**Cut B:** Cutting away from her face four seconds earlier moves the audience sooner into the unfinished reach, emphasizing the impulse toward contact over the preceding stillness.

These sentences state editorial intent, not measured audience response. No partner screening or listening review is claimed. Existing Week 9 interface/lighting differences remain.

Cut A is a byte-identical copy of Week 9 assembly v1. Cut B uses only the same original frames; no generated, interpolated or frozen extra frames. Technical decode and timeline-difference checks passed; precise cut/audio aesthetics remain for playback review.
