Production Vue

Week 12 · Vue 3 + TypeScript

Could another developer safely change this tomorrow?

The fault on the desk

The happy path works. A double click creates two consultations, a slow response overwrites a newer screen, and a hidden action can still be called directly. The handover is where those assumptions become visible.

Evidence for the next maintainer

Read this seam

import { expect, test } from 'vitest'

test('completed cannot reopen', () => {
  const s = { status: 'completed' }
  expect(() => transition(s, 'start'))
    .toThrow('Invalid transition')
})

Make the failure visible

Submit twice while a request is pending, then force failure and retry. Confirm one consultation record, an honest status and no phantom receipt. Change a permission in the fixture and retry the forbidden action.

Keep / change

The semester began with a saved flag and ends with state transitions someone else can verify. The common skill is choosing where truth lives and testing the boundary that changes it.

Leave with evidence

A consultation service handover

Exchange repositories. A partner follows the README from a clean checkout, changes one rule, runs the tests and reports the first undocumented assumption.
