Email for anything about the shape of the course; save close-reading questions about a specific painting for the seminar, where the rest of the room benefits from the answer too.

Marisol trained as a painter before retraining as a cataloguer, which she maintains is the only honest order to do it in: you cannot tell a convincing copy from an awkward original until you have tried to make one. Her doctoral thesis re-catalogued a private Suzhou collection assembled across three generations and found six confident misattributions in its first twenty scrolls, none of them stupid mistakes.

She teaches the first half of the course — the toolkit weeks, from materials through to the market — and sets both the attribution note and the dossier. Ask her about a seal before you ask about a signature; she will tell you the seal is usually more informative and less prone to flattery.
