Dev’s background is industrial rather than academic: static analysis deployments at scale, the ones that catch real bugs in real codebases and the ones that mostly generate noise nobody reads. He runs the studios where you get a tool on the command line and see what it actually tells you — which is usually less than the paper promised, and occasionally more.
