Ask during sessions, or email when a question cannot wait until the next one.

Sichen came to this course sideways, via two years reading submissions for a gig-economy minimum-standards inquiry. Most of that job was noticing how many different things “the algorithm made me do it” was being used to mean, and how rarely anyone on either side of the argument had actually read the dispatch code they were arguing about.

Sichen runs the second half of semester — the weeks where the China case study turns into a comparative question about Australia and the EU — and supervises the capstone studio, where you have to propose a dispatch system rather than just criticise one.

Consultation hours are posted weekly. Bring a specific question, not a request to “look over” a draft with no direction — sessions run faster and better that way for everyone in the room.
