Week 9 Lab: Two churches
Week 9 lab, push your setup to one aesthetic pole, then defend where it landed
19 April 2027
The lab where taste has to become a position you can defend.
Before the lab#
Bring your setup after a day pushed toward one pole, with notes on what you gained and what you missed.
In the lab#
We pair a minimalist with a maximalist and let them argue. The job is not to win but to tell your choice apart from its failure mode: clarity from avoidance, abundance from noise. By the end you should know which church you are in and be able to say why without apology.
Afterwards#
You leave committed to a direction, with the sharper version of your own argument in hand.
The spec
What you bring to the session. Written so a reader can tell whether it has been met without asking you.
- you have pushed your setup hard toward minimalism or maximalism
- you can distinguish your choice from its failure mode
- you can argue your position against a partner holding the other
