The Rice as Portrait

Week 12. The closing lecture, and the gallery.

What a desktop reveals

  • what you look at all day
  • what you decided was worth automating
  • what you were avoiding while you did

Every choice was a confession

The palette, the font, the empty status bar module you never filled. We can read all of it.

Each setup goes up. You defend it, the room questions it, and the screenshot has to survive being talked about rather than only looked at.

What you are handing in

  • the rice, reproducible from a bare machine
  • the dotfiles, graded as engineering
  • the defence, the time audit, and a semester of feedback behind you

Now switch it off

The best setup is the one you stop configuring. Go and do the work it was for.
