Tempo as instruction, not mood#
- ambient music sets a walking pace the way a metronome sets a tempo
- slower near high-margin fresh goods, quicker near the checkout
- the queue feels shorter than it is, on purpose
The sonic floor#
An ambient instruction, played into every zone of the building, that you obey before you’ve noticed it’s an instruction at all.
