Teaching approach

Mara’s consultations begin with a small correction: slow the story down until its observable parts can be seen. She will ask what changed, compared with which baseline, over what period, and what would make the current judgement unsafe. The aim is not to make every learner sound clinically certain. It is to make their uncertainty specific enough to act on responsibly.

Feedback follows the course rhythm. First it identifies what the learner noticed well. Then it tests the interpretation against another plausible reading. Finally it asks whether the recommended owner action has a clear endpoint and preserves the boundary between home care and professional assessment.

Contact rhythm

Post general course and assessment questions in the shared course space so the answer can help everyone. Use a private course message for extensions, access needs or circumstances you do not want to discuss publicly. A weekly online consultation hour is reserved for bringing one field note, case decision or draft care plan into a short conversation.

Questions about a real cat’s health belong with a veterinarian. An urgent concern should go to an appropriate veterinary or emergency service rather than waiting for a course reply.
