Applied Human Cat Care

Week 2

WATCH BEFORE YOU PET

If there is no universal cat, the first method is attention.

STAGE 1 · OBSERVATION

OBSERVATION

APPLIED HUMAN CAT CARE • WEEK 2 1

Care begins with attention.

Not with the fastest answer. Not with the kindest-sounding script. With looking first.

WEEK 2 A kind response is not yet a personalised response

A caring sentence can still miss the person in front of you.

GENERIC KINDNESS PERSONALISED CARE

• sounds gentle • may be reasonable • could fit many people • does not prove you saw Mira

• fits Mira’s actual context • notices what changed • treats kindness as situated • leaves room to ask

Kindness becomes care only when it meets this human cat.

WEEK 2 Observation comes before interpretation

Separate what happened from what you think it meant.

OBSERVED INTERPRETED

what actually happened what you think it may mean

• exact words • visible action • timing • what changed from usual

• possible mood • possible preference • possible reason • how confident you are

Do not let an inference quietly become a fact.

WEEK 2 Mira gives you a small signal

Your designated human cat is still a person, and ordinary ambiguity is normal.

Possible meanings

MIRA · TODAY

Mira usually writes in full sentences. Today she replies:

exhausted? overwhelmed?

“I’m tired. I might stop here.”

just busy? wants company?

small signal, not a solved case

wants space?

The signal is real. The story around it is not yet proven.

WEEK 2 Observed / Inferred / Unknown

Catwatch starts by sorting attention into honest categories.

OBSERVED

INFERRED

UNKNOWN

what you actually saw or heard

what you think it may mean

what you do not yet know

Mira ended the conversation

She may want a lower- pressure interaction.

Whether she wants company, space, or a practical next step.

earlier than usual.

Unknown is not failure. It is part of honest care.

APPLIED HUMAN CAT CARE • WEEK 2 6

WEEK 2 What goes wrong when you move too fast?

The error is not a lack of kindness. It is treating inference as fact.

company.

A fast story can feel personalised because it has Mira’s name in it. That does not make it true.

WEEK 2 What should a Catwatch note contain?

The first record does not need certainty. It needs attention.

CATWATCH NOTE · WEEK 2

1 What happened?

Catwatch begins with attention, not certainty.

2 Exact words / action, if possible

A good note keeps the

difference between evidence and story visible.

4 What I inferred

5 What remains unknown

APPLIED HUMAN CAT CARE • WEEK 2 8

Look carefully enough to leave some things unresolved.

Good care does not begin by sounding right. It begins by noticing what you do not yet know.
